A MATERNITY influencer who helped thousands of mums has tragically died just days after emergency surgery.
Social media star Taina Madeiros, who had more than 70,000 followers on Instagram, died in Brazil on Wednesday. She was 34.
An official cause of death has not been given but her friends reportedly said she had an ectopic pregnancy last week.
She had asked her fans to pray for her recovery in a recent post.
A ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilised egg plants itself outside the womb, typically in one of the Fallopian tubes.
If an egg gets stuck in one of the tubes, the pregnancy isn’t possible and it has to be removed during an operation.
Taina was a trained nurse who gave advice on breastfeeding on viral Instagram account amormama.
Sadly, she leaves behind a husband and five-year-old daughter.
She was on Thursday laid to rest in Parnamirim, northeast Brazil.
Taina made a recent post calling on fans to help her through recovery.
She said: “Pray for my recovery, now I need to take care of myself.
“But soon I will be better to take care of you, God willing.”
Taina never did get better, and now tributes are flowing in for the much-loved maternity mentor.
A heartbreaking post that announced her passing said: “God has called our Tai home.
“Wife, mother, daughter, friend, entrepreneur. A woman full of faith, eternal values, and boundless kindness.
“She touched the lives of many, seeing beyond with eyes that reflected the beauty of the sea and exuded compassion.
“We are left with the best memories: her bright smile, warm embrace, and her legacy of love.”
Fans said she would be remembered for how many families she helped.
One commented: “Last week I asked you: do you have any idea how many families you’ve helped?
“And you said: I’ve lost count, but it’s well over 2,000!
“Your heart wasn’t in the numbers but in the dedication! We were witness to that love and dedication!
“You came into this world to make a difference, Tai! And you did! We will remember you as a blessing!”
