Days of Our Lives continues to keep us guessing, and there’s just been another huge shakeup with the cast.
The long-running Peacock soap opera TV series is saying goodbye to a character who is currently pregnant!
During the most recent episodes, Joy quit her new job at Titan, packed her bags and said goodbye, rather than admitting she was pregnant with Alex’s child.
She called her mom and told her she’d be coming home to New York.
TV Insider confirmed that Joy actor AlexAnn Hopkins is truly leaving the show.

A show spokesperson said in a statement: “We enjoyed having AlexAnn bring the character of Joy to life, it was a short yet important story arc, and we hope the fans enjoyed watching it unfold.”
The Criminal Minds and Chicago P.D. star made her first appearance on Days on October 22, 2024, as Joy, the daughter of Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) and Dr. Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas).
The character of Joy was born on-screen in 2003 when Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), Craig and Nancy’s other daughter, was diagnosed with leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant. Joy was a match and saved her sister’s life.
Joy (Aisling Acuna) was a flower girl at Chloe’s wedding to Brady Black (Kyle Lowder) in 2005, then left town with her parents and wasn’t seen again until last year, per TV Insider.
Alex Kiriakis actor Robert Scott Wilson also addressed the exit.
“AlexAnn was really, really great,” he said to Soap Opera Digest.
“The amount [of material] that we did have together, I think she really showed up and always did really great work.”
“I’m sure they’ll do something with her and myself in the future at some point down the line,” he remarked.
“A sign of any good actor. It’s just being available and doing enough work on your own…she was fantastic. She is fantastic.”
