It’s been more than seven years since Cardi B dropped her wildly popular debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Now, the rapper has finally announced her next full-length project. The new album is called Am I the Drama? and is set to arrive on September 19th via Atlantic.
Cardi B first made the announcement on social media, where she included details about the album and posted its cover art (which, by the way, gives slight Alfred Hitchcock or, if you’re younger, Home Alone 2 vibes). She had previously hinted that the news was coming in a crow-filled teaser on June 22nd.
“Seven years and the time has come,” she stated in the video. “Seven years of love, life, and loss. Seven years I gave them grace, but now, I give them hell. I learned power is not given, it’s taken. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your tyrant. The time is here. The time is now.”

The news comes shortly after the artist dropped her new song, “Outside,” which was released last week. Pre-orders for Cardi B’s new album, Am I the Drama, are ongoing. The full track list has yet to be revealed.
In the seven years between the release of her two albums, Cardi B has kept busy with high-profile relationships, multiple chart-topping (and raunchy) singles, and various tours.
