Lupe Fiasco has teamed up with MIT to launch a fully AI-powered FM radio station called ‘Endless LUP.’

“Imagine if there was a 24 hour fully AI-powered radio station trained on all the intricacies of my rapping abilities and was carefully refined to produce the highest quality possible Lupe Fiasco songs,” the rapper writes on Instagram. “Now imagine it only played a generated song once and never again endlessly—now imagine the radio station was only available for certain periods of time and only in certain locations and you need an actual FM radio to hear the songs.”

“Imagine I put a team together at MIT and imagine we actually built it. ‘Endless Lup’ coming soon,” he teases. Fan reactions to the announcement on Instagram have been less than positive, asking the rapper why he’s taking away focus from ‘real’ artists with AI generated tunes. Lupe Fiasco also recently celebrated his upcoming role as visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University.

“Thrilled to share that I’ll be joining the faculty at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute in Fall 2025 as a Distinguished Visiting Professor, teaching Rap as part of the groundbreaking new 4-year Hip Hop Degree Program led by Professor Wendel Patrick,” Lupe Fiasco said in another post on Instagram.

“I’ll continue my teaching at MIT and pursuing my fellowship at Yale, while advancing Rap studies and practice into the upper echelons of higher education at large.”

Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Rap Theory and Practice’ class at MIT aimed to create a class where students “engage in the full process of creating rap music, including composing lyrics, recording, performing, and creating an EP length album.” That came along with studying existing rap music, analyzing current lyrics, and performing written rap songs and analyzing other student’s performances in workshop discussions.
