FOO Fighters founder Dave Grohl has been married twice.
Now that the rock star has admitted he fathered a child outside of his second marriage, we take a look at his first wife, photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood.

Who is Dave Grohl’s ex-wife Jennifer Leigh Youngblood?
Jennifer Leigh Youngblood knew Dave Grohl while he was still a member of the iconic grunge band, Nirvana.
Grohl, who was 25 at the time of their marriage, created his band the Foo Fighters that same year.
While Jennifer’s age is unknown, Grohl told The Guardian: “I was 25, my wife was even younger”.
He was a member of Nirvana from 1990 until they disbanded in 1994 following the death of the lead singer Kurt Cobain.
Youngblood was a photographer at the time and even took the picture that became the cover art for the Foo Fighters‘ 1995 debut album.
A track on the LP named Big Me, was dedicated to her and Grohl described it as his favourite on the record.
The couple married in 1994, but were together for just two years until they separated in 1996 after Grohl admitted to infidelity.
Their divorce was finalised in 1997.
What does Jennifer Leigh Youngblood do for a living?
It is unclear what Youngblood does for a living now but we know she was a photographer during her relationship with Grohl.
When the photographer split up with Grohl, friction emerged amongst his bandmates.
Guitarist Pat Smear, who was close friends with Youngblood, sided with her after Grohl admitted to being unfaithful, and he went on to leave the band in 1997.
Grohl and Smear later reconciled, with the latter re-joining the band as a touring guitarist in 2005, but Grohl’s rocky love-life continued.
Together, the Foo Fighters have released two chart-topping albums in the US.
Their 2023 release, But Here We Are, was their first record following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.

What other relationships has Dave Grohl been involved in?
After his first marriage ended, Grohl reportedly started dating Louise Post from the band Veruca Salt.
Their relationship was short-lived after rumors surfaced that he was infatuated with Hollywood star Winona Ryder – claims that he denies.
The Foo Fighters’ frontman also dated snowboarder Tina Basich in 1998.
In her 2003 memoir, titled “Pretty Good for a Girl: The Autobiography of a Snowboarding Pioneer,” Tina claimed that Dave was romancing another woman at the same time they were dating.

The snowboarder reported: “I found out secondhand, through the grapevine, when it seemed like everyone else in the world knew about it but me.”
Following their break-up, Grohl dated the former Smashing Pumpkins bassist, Melissa Auf Der Maur, between 1999 and 2001.
According to Auf Der Maur, what brought her and Grohl together was the fact they were “both obsessed, committed to rock music”.
But the couple eventually parted ways on good terms.
However in 1999, Grohl told Melody Maker that he still missed his former wife.
He said: “We weren’t ready to get married.
“I miss her a tonne, she’s the funniest goddamn weirdo you ever met in your life. Absolutely adorable.
“It would have been better had we not got married. But you live and you learn.”

Grohl married former MTV producer Jordyn Blum in 2003.
He met his second wife at a whisky bar in 2001, and jokingly called her “my future ex-wife”.
The couple were married on August 2, 2003, and have three daughters together, Violet Maye, Harper Willow, and Ophelia Saint born in 2006, 2009, and 2014 respectively.

The former Nirvana drummer admitted in September 2024 to fathering a daughter out of marriage.
In a post on Instagram, he revealed the birth of his fourth child.
The rock legend wrote: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.
“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
The announcement of his love child contained no details about the identity of the mother.
His daughters deleted their social media accounts after the revelation.
The father of four has also been reported to have dated actress and model, Kari Wuhrer, and musician Louise Post.
