The Veronicas join Kyle Meredith to talk about Gothic Summer, the latest album from the Australian twin sisters. Listen to the new episode above, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Lisa and Jessica Origliasso talk about being heavily influenced by their rock upbringing and how the bands from their youth have manifested in their sound. “Our song ‘Jungle’ is a throwback to something like The B-52’s or The Cramps,” they say. “[It’s] more of the music that we grew up listening to, rather than what you would expect The Veronicas to make for a radio song, if that makes sense.”

For Gothic Summer, The Veronicas reunited with producer John Feldmann, marking the beginning and ending of different artistic chapters. With the reunion came a reexamination of how the sisters feel about pop music, ultimately exploring the duality of abstract art and pop.
