Perfume Genius Announces New Album Glory, 2025 Tour Dates

Perfume Genius is back. Today, Mike Hadreas has announced his latest album, Glory, along with a run of North American tour dates. He has also released a new music video for the album’s lead single, “It’s a Mirror.”

Due on March 28th via Matador, Glory sees Perfume Genius reunite with producer Blake Mills for what Hadreas described as his “most directly confessional” album to date, tackling themes of fame, isolation, and aging, especially focusing on how gay culture addresses one’s older years. “There’s a map for the first part,” he explained in a statement. “There’s books about hustlers and drinking and drugs and going out. And then, after that, there’s not a lot.”

After the arrival of Glory in March, Hadreas will hit the road for a North American tour kicking off on May 12th in Healdsburg, California, followed by dates in Phoenix, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Boston, Toronto, Seattle, and more cities. Tickets go on sale on Friday, January 17th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

As for “It’s a Mirror,” the single is a mid-tempo song built around layers of guitars. Speaking of its origins, Hadreas said, “I wake up overwhelmed even when nothing is going on. I spend the rest of the day trying to regulate, which I prefer to do at home alone with my thoughts. But why? They are mostly bad. They also haven’t really changed for decades. I wrote ‘It’s a Mirror’ while stuck in one of these isolating loops, seeing that something different and maybe even beautiful is out there but not quite knowing how to venture out. I have a lot more practice keeping the door closed.”

Today, the single arrived with a music video directed by Cody Critchloe. Watch it below.
