Meechy Darko unlocked another cut from his upcoming studio album.
The Flatbush Zombies member came through with “On God,” a Freddie Gibbs– and A-Trak-assisted single co-produced by Jay Versace and Dot da Genius. The song marks the third taste of Meechy’s debut solo record Gothic Luxury, set to arrive at the end of the month.
Meechy announced Gothic Luxury back in June and has since released his “Kill Us All (K.U.A.)” and “Get Lit or Die Tryin’” singles. According to his online store, the project will deliver 13 tracks with guest appearances by Denzel Curry, Kirk Knight, Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, and more.
The Brooklyn rapper spoke about the album before he dropped “K.U.A.”
“I had no choice but to make this the most personal thing I’ve ever done because fortunately or unfortunately, I’m in an extremely soul-stirring part of my life right now,” he said in a press release. “Who I was yesterday may not be who I am tomorrow. I’m not who I was last week. There’s no telling who I’ll be next year or the year after, so it’s very important to capture this while I can still feel.”
You can listen to “On God” now and pre-order Gothic Luxury here. The album is scheduled for Aug. 26.
