Queen of pop, Madonna, shared an adorable and loving picture of what she is most thankful for this Thanksgiving. The iconic singer is the mother to six children; the first two, Lourdes Leon and Rocco Ritchie are from her previous marriages to Carlos Leon and Guy Ritchie, respectively. The remaining four, David, Mercy, and twins Estere and Stelle, were adopted by her.

Madonna has an extended history with Malawi due to the southeast African nation being where she adopted her four youngest children. David was adopted in 2008 from Home of Hope, and a year later, the artist brought home Mercy from Blantyre, Malawi’s business capital. The twins were adopted in 2017 after another trip to Malawi.

“Like a Virgin” artist Madonna recently posted a photo of her and her family of six all dressed up for Thanksgiving. She shared several pictures of them having a festive time, including one of the entire family decked out in their stylish outfits. The singer captioned the Instagram post, “What I’m thankful for…………” with a yellow heart emoji.

Madonna had on a black lace gothic-style corset dress paired with some silver jewelry and crimped red hair. The first picture in the slideshow featured her and Lourdes, the eldest of the bunch, who wore an all-black strapless crop top and trousers outfit.

The pop icon also shared a photo of the entire family in the next slide in their various attires. Rocco had on a suit, while David wore a light blue turtleneck. Mercy, on her end, wore a seasonal green dress, and the youngest, Stellar and Estere, rocked opposing black and glittery skirts and dresses.

Another picture on the slideshow displayed Madonna with a large glass of red wine and a view of the family’s sizable thanksgiving table. There was a centerpiece made up of a tree with red flowers, lights, and fake cardinals. The décor was fall themed and had a display of fruits like green pears, red apples, pomegranates, fresh cranberries, and others.

There were also small bird cages and handfuls of cinnamon sticks on the table. The placemats held colorful plates that contained folded napkins along with pens and pieces of paper saying “I AM THANKFUL FOR…” for the singer’s guests to fill.

In an August interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Madonna talked about her son David and how fashionable he was. During the interview, the “Frozen” singer explained that regardless of what David tried on, he still looked great.

She told the show host Jimmy Fallon, “He can put on any outfit and look swag as you know what. It’s really irritating. He wears my clothes and looks better in them. He can even wear a dress and look butch.” In a post made earlier this year, the mother of six also showed off the piano skills of her twins, Stella and Estere.

The artist adopted David in 2006 after founding her Raising Malawi charitable organization. According to the website, the organization’s purpose is to aid the Malawi people in improving their health sector, education, and arts. Raising Malawi built the first children’s hospital in the country, Mercy James Institute for Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care. It also helped open Jacaranda School, where it funded the launch of a music and arts program.

In a 2017 publication of People Magazine, Madonna talked about how she adopted her two youngest, Estere and Stella. She revealed that the decision was “inexplicable” and was made after spending some time with them. The artist first met the twins during her visit to the Home of Hope two years and a half before the interview.

She explained that after being with them for some time on different trips, she decided to adopt them. “Sometimes I would just close my eyes and just think, ‘Why isn’t my kitchen filled with dancing children?’ There’s so many children that need a home,” Madonna recalled. “I thought, ‘What am I waiting for? Just do it.’”

After making her decision, the “Material Girl” singer said she spoke to her children about the new members of the family and started the adoption process. “Mercy and David were excited,” she revealed.

For her other children, the artist explained, “There might have been [a feeling of], ‘Oh, we have to share you with more people’ —, not jealousy, but an adjustment. Eventually, everyone was supportive. Lola said, ‘Mom, if that’s what you want and it’s going to make you happy, let’s go.’”
