Game of Thrones is one of the top-rated and most popular television shows of all time. It had all the elements of a perfect fantasy drama – from bloodshed to a gripping storyline, and it all came with an extra amount of saucy scenes. GOT is known for its graphic, intimate scenes, and some of the actors were very young when they started in this HBO series. Sophie Turner was one of them. The actress was reportedly 13 years old when the show began.
She played the role of Ned Stark’s elder daughter, Sansa Stark, and her character development was one of the best. She was a lovestruck fool in the first season who dreamt of becoming Jeoffrey’s wife; from there to becoming the Queen in the North, she suffered a lot to find her way back home. Her strategic thinking by asking Little Finger for help earned her and Jon Snow the victory against Ramsay Bolton. The siblings returned to Winterfell and re-established House Stark’s reign in the North.
Game of Thrones was an R-rated show with explicit n*dity and graphic content. As a result, Sophie Turner was exposed to adult themes a few years earlier than when her parents gave them the Birds and the Bees Talk. Turner apparently had a crash course on s*x education while filming the series. In one of her appearances on the TBS show Conan, Turner opened up about the NSFW discussion between her and her parents.
Sophie Turner recalled, “I mean, my parents sat me down when I was, like, 15, and they were like, ‘Think it’s time to talk about the birds and the bees!’” She continued, “And I was like, ‘I’m on Game of Thrones! [Laughs] I know everything there is to know and more. Like, I don’t think I need any education there. I got all sussed out.”
Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams grew up while filming Game of Thrones. The series ran from 2011 to 2019 and had eight seasons. The makers killed many fan-favorite characters, including Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen, but luckily, Sophie Turner’s Sansa survived and was on the show till the end.
On the professional front, Sophie Turner to reunite with her Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harrington for a gothic horror film, The Dreadful. It was announced a few weeks ago, and the release has yet to be revealed.
