Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams experienced a loss this past weekend.

The “Modern Family” actress and the “Bachelorette” alum who got married this year announced some sad news this past weekend. They related the word of the death of their dog Carl who had been a member of their little family since his adoption in 2014. Although the cause of death wasn’t shared, the new couple wrote heartfelt messages mourning their loss.

Hyland took to Instagram to mourn the loss of her furry friend. She shared a carousel of pictures featuring the lovebirds and Carl. In the first snap, the actress and Carl lay on the bed together, with the “Geek Charming” actress placing her head on Carl’s body. The following image was a black-and-white image that showed Adams and Carl cuddling.

Elsewhere on the carousel was a Christmas photo shoot of the family featuring Carl and the other dog. The foursome huddled together in matching Christmas- themed pajamas, with Hyland and Adams adding Christmas hats to their looks.

Alongside the adorable snaps, the “Scary Movie” actress penned a heartfelt message expressing her sadness for losing the bloodhound. 

“Our gentle giant Carl, You were our protector, our best hug giver, and the light of our lives. Thank you for being the greatest friend anyone could ask for. I’ll love you forever. You’ll always be my best big boy, dad’s best friend, and Boo’s first love. We’ll cuddle in our sleep 🌈🤍.”

Amongst the several condolence messages from fans and other celebrities, her husband’s comment struck a chord. He wrote, “He loved you most. And that made me happy.” Actress Lily Collins commented, “Oh no, I’m sending you the most love,” while Kaley Cuoco sadly expressed, “Nooooo.” “Modern Family” co-actor Jeremy Maguire consoled the family, writing, “Awww, sorry for your loss.”

Wells Adams Celebrates Sarah Hyland On Her Birthday

This sad news came a few days after the “See You in Valhalla” actress’s birthday. As we previously reported, the actress turned 32 with an outpouring of love from her husband. 

The Bachelorette star posted a lovely picture of them on their wedding day. In the photo, the lovebirds looked radiant as the “Love Island” star rocked a stunning Vera Wang Haute light ivory sweetheart ball gown that featured hand pleated bodice and French tulle sleeves. 

She appeared to be enjoying the moment, as she was captured laughing while conversing with a wedding guest.

On the other hand, Adams looked handsome in a dashing black tuxedo. The photo captured him with a wide grin as he lovingly embraced his wife while they danced on the dance floor.

Celebrating his beautiful wife, he penned a message in the post’s caption. He wrote, “I’m thankful for so much in my life. But I’m most thankful that this woman was born on this day.”

He further added, “Happy birthday @sarahhyland! I’m not sure what I did in a past life to deserve something as perfect as you, but I thank the stars every day that I found you. Love +1 anything you say.”

Naturally, the post amassed several lovely comments from fans who wished the actress a happy birthday. One fan wrote, “Happy Birthday Sarah! Enjoy your first birthday as a married woman, and Happy Thanksgiving! 🧡💛🤎.”

The “Modern Family” Star Gushed About Her Marriage 

Fans would recall that the sweethearts tied the knot this year in a dream wedding. Several months after getting hitched, Hyland spoke about how being married felt. 

Per The Blast, the new wife got candid about her marriage, highlighting the perks of marriage. In her chat with a news outlet, she cited a time she enjoyed getting hitched.

Recalling her experience, she said, “I actually had a doctor’s appointment the other day for a check-up, and it was the first time where I got to check the ‘married’ box on the forms.”

She continued, “I was like, ‘Oh my god!’ Because we’ve been engaged for three years before we got married. So, you know, you have the ring on your finger, and you’re like, ‘I really wanna check that box!’”

The stunning actress further declared that being married is fantastic. As for one of the changes she’s experienced, Hyland explained, “For me, I was like, ‘I feel like a grown-up now!’”
