Ryan Coogler’s next movie Sinners, his first non-intellectual property based film since his acclaimed 2013 debut Fruitvale Station, is shaping up to be one of the best movies of 2025, certainly if the teaser and trailer for the film have been an indicator of its ultimately quality.

While specific plot details have been kept under wraps, Sinners is set to be a vampire film set in the 1930s Jim Crow era South and will feature Michael B. Jordan in dual roles as twin brothers.

Jordan and Ryan Coogler have now worked together on all five of the filmmaker’s directorial efforts.

In addition to Sinners — Coogler’s fifth feature film following Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever — the acclaimed diretor has also been developing the Disney+ animated series Eyes of Wakanda. Reports indicate that Black Panther 3 is also in the works at Marvel Studios.

Alongside Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, Delroy Lindo, Li Jun Li, Lola Kirke, Miles Caton, Peter Dreimanis, Christian Robinson, and Jermaine Mctizic will also star in Sinners.

“Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

Following the release of the debut trailer for Sinners in September, a quick clip of Hailee Steinfeld went viral on social media, with many predicting that her character is going to put Michael B. Jordan’s in a precarious position.

Oddly enough, Steinfeld’s, uh, “aura” did cause one of her other co-stars to crashout, as her Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse co-star Shameik Moore fired off a bizarre and tense string of tweets after her engagement to Josh Allen was announced.
