Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will serve as the inaugural film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five strategy, received a new trailer on Monday.
Up top, see the trailer for the sequel, which counts returning director Peyton Reed alongside returning stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly. Joining them is Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, with the Emmy-nominated actor’s performance having already won praise from Rudd himself.
“He’s incredible, and it throws this whole thing into such new territory,” Rudd teased during Marvel’s D23 presentation in September, per the Hollywood Reporter. Majors, of course, previously appeared as He Who Remains in this year’s Loki series.
“I used to ask myself a lot of questions,” Rudd’s Scott Lang tells the audience in the new Quantumania trailer’s opening moments. “‘Scott, you’re an ex-con. How are you an Avenger? That doesn’t make sense.’ But everywhere I go, people tell me the same thing.”
This batch of introductory narration makes way for the delivery of a Spider-Man joke from a certain performer whose presence here should make I Think You Should Leave fans very happy. See the full thing above.
Quantumania follows 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, which went on to amass over $216 million at the domestic box office and more than $622 million worldwide. According to Rudd, fans should expect Quantumania to deliver something “unlike anything” they’ve seen from these filmmakers in the past.
Rudd is also set to appear in the upcoming third season of Only Murders in the Building, marking an expansion of his cameo appearance in the Hulu hit’s most recent finale.
