A man and a juvenile have been arrested and charged after TikToker Chrystofer Whyte was fatally shot in mid-June.
On June 12, TikToker Chrystofer Whyte, who had over 100,000 followers on the short-form video platform, was fatally shot while on a beach in Long Branch, New Jersey.
The 18-year-old’s last upload came prior to the shooting, as he posted a short clip of himself sitting on the crowded beach. He had been regularly posting clips prior to that, including of himself lip-syncing to songs and taking part in viral dance trends.
Whyte’s silence on TikTok had confused fans until it was confirmed that he was fatally shot and murdered. Now, two males have been charged with the murder of the popular TikToker.
Two charged with murder of TikToker Chrystofer Whyte
According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, one 18-year-old – Dwayne Exilus – and a juvenile, who cannot be named due to his age, have been charged with the murder of Whyte.
Exilus, of Woodbridge, was charged with second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun), second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, third-degree Hindering, and one count of fourth-degree Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
The juvenile has been served with juvenile complaints that include Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Hindering.
Whyte’s brief video from that day has racked up over 6 million views, with fans posting a number of tributes to the TikToker.
“You ain’t deserve that bro, rest in peace,” one commented. “This isn’t how you were supposed to be known,” another added. “We was js playing 7v7 at the beach last week mane. rip mane,” another said.
