People are saying their farewell to Twitter and #RIPTwitter is currently the number one hashtag in the United States amid the possible end to the company.
The trend started after it was reported that all of Twitter’s offices were temporarily closed, effective immediately.
People are sharing their other forms of social media so that their followers know where to contact them in the future.

Tech blog Platformer’s managing editor Zoe Schiffer tweeted, “Twitter just alerted employees that effective immediately, all office buildings are temporarily closed and badge access is suspended. No details given as to why.”
She continued, “We’re hearing this is because Elon Musk and his team are terrified employees are going to sabotage the company. Also, they’re still trying to figure out which Twitter workers they need to cut access for. Offices will reopen on November 21st. In the meantime: ‘Please continue to comply with company policy by refraining from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere.’”

There might not be many employees left at Twitter on Monday though.
Fortune‘s tech reporter Kylie Robison says that 75% of the remaining employees at Twitter have opted to leave their jobs following an email that was sent out this week.
“What I’m hearing from Twitter employees; It looks like roughly 75% of the remaining 3,700ish Twitter employees have not opted to stay after the “hardcore” email. Even though the deadline has passed, everyone still has access to their systems,” she tweeted. “As we’re all very aware, folks on visas are stuck, so thats who makes up most of the roughly 25% (or less than 1,000….) expected to stay. The actual impact is not yet known — there have been no internal comms about what comes next. We’re nearly 2 hours post deadline.”

Of course, there “end” of Twitter is just something that people are predicting right now and there’s no official confirmation that it will happen anytime soon.
