Sydney Sweeney is in the midst of the promotional tour for her new horror film Immaculate and the marketing team is getting quite creative.
In a recent Instagram post to promote the upcoming project — which apparently has an all-timer of a shock ending that will particularly piss of the religious community — the 26-year-old bombshell looks into the camera and reads the passage “Second Kings, Chapter 2, Verses 24 to 24”.
This isn’t the first time that Sweeney has used a stunt like this to promote one of her projects as she also recorded a video of herself performing ASMR pick-up lines to market her rom-com Anyone But You. Sweeney’s methods certainly can’t be mocked, as Anyone But You has wound up grossing over $200 million at the global box office and will likely lead to a sequel.
Here is the official synopsis for Immaculate, via its distributor Neon:
Directed by Michael Mohan, Immaculate follows Cecilia (Sweeney), a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon interrupted as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors some dark and horrifying secrets.
Sweeney stars in Immaculate alongside a bevy of Italian actors such as The White Lotus alum Simona Tabasco, Alvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Giorgio Colangeli, and Dora Romano.
The Euphoria star also recently discussed the upcoming third season of the hit HBO series, which is set to begin production in the next few months, saying that in an interview with GQ “people will be really amazed with what season three becomes.”
Sweeney is also expected to begin production on her remake of Barbarella, which is rumored to be directed by Edgar Wright, the filmmaker behind hits such as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Baby Driver.
