‘Sesame Street’ Meets ‘The Sopranos’ Is Simultaneously for No One and Everyone

There is, perhaps, no pair of TV shows that are as universally celebrated as they are completely dissimilar as The Sopranos and Sesame Street — except, maybe, for The Wire and SpongeBob SquarePants, or Dexter and Dexter’s Laboratory. But, sometimes, when you combine two things that don’t seem to go together, the result is amazing and unexpected — and, other times, you get some unholy merger that offends the very essence of that which it unifies. Think pineapple and pizza, which, depending on your point of view, could be considered either the former or the latter.

The latest pineapple pizza that has us questioning our fundamental beliefs about good taste comes from the Instagram (and TikTok) account @MobstersDaily, which recently began posting a series of videos in which they dub footage from Sesame Street with audio from The Sopranos, creating a quizzically compelling effect on fans of both, either or neither as Ernie Moltisanti melts our perception of reality.
