Thandiwe Newton. Michelle Monaghan. Paula Patton. Lea Seydoux. Rebecca Ferguson. Vanessa Kirby. Pom Klementieff. Hayley Atwell. These are the many stunning A-list actresses that have starred in the Mission: Impossible movies over the years.
The presence of drop-dead-gorgeous women surrounding Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible universe has become so commonplace that a moment referencing that fact in 2023’s Dead Reckoning turned into a meme on Twitter last summer.
Ethan Hunt thinking of all the babes in his life before riding a bike off a cliff is so real

With Mission: Impossible 8 — which was originally set to be titled Dead Reckoning Part Two, although that has since changed — currently in production, Cruise is, once again, adding to his stable of Mission: Impossible baddies as Love Lives Bleeding breakout Katy O’Brian has joined the cast.
O’Brian had her big career breakthrough earlierthis year when she starred as a bodybuilder alongside Kristen Stewart in Rose Glass’ A24 film Love Lives Bleeding, which has been one of the best-reviewed films of 2024 so far.
The Mission: Impossible franchise will be hoping for a bit of a comeback next year as 2023’s Dead Reckoning underperformed at the box office with $567.5 million at the global box office despite a glowing 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Part of the issue with Dead Reckoning‘s release was that it hit theaters just 9 days before the release of Oppenheimer and Barbie, which became known as “Barbenheimer” and was one of the biggest movie-going events in years, perhaps since Avengers: Endgame. In May 2025, however, Mission: Impossible 8, which does not yet have an official subtitle, will not face that problem.
In addition to O’Brian, new actors that’ll join the Mission: Impossible franchise in the upcoming film are Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Janet McTeer, and Hannah Waddingham.
Originally slated to release this summer, the actors’ strikes of 2023 delayed the production of Mission: Impossible 8, therefore unfortunately bumping its premiere date to May 23, 2025.
