Jake Lacy Video Interview On ‘Apples Never Fall’ & More: The Actor’s Side

Movie Academy Promotes Jenny Galante To EVP Revenue & Business Development – Deadline

Jake Lacy continues his winning streak on the small screen with Emmy-buzzed shows from Peacock’s 7-episide limited series, Apples Never Fall to what turned out to be Oscar winning directing icon William Friedkin’s final film, The Caine Mutiny Court Martial.

This all follows his Emmy nominated work in the ever-so-memorable first season of The White Lotus to real life showbiz stories Being The Ricardos and Fosse/Verdon. He was also chilling in last season’s Peacock limited series, A Friend Of The Family as creepy real life kidnapper Robert Berchtold. In a career that has also been notable for some smart choices of shows just ending their runs, Lacy memorably played Pete Miller in the 9th and final season of the hit series, The Office. He also helped close out the loooooong running soap, The Guiding Light which went off the air around episode 15546 when he showed up. Oh, and there was another hit show, Girls in which he showed up as Fran late in the series. It isn’t all tv though where he has made his mark. There was Carol, Their Finest, Miss Sloane, Obvious Child and more on the big screen as well.

With the one-two punch this season of Apples Never Fall based on the Liane Moriarty best seller in which he plays conflicted son Troy in a tennis family that becomes wildly dysfunctional after the disappearance of its matriarch, and as Lt. Stephen Maryk in the Showtime/Paramount + courtroom movie, The Caine Mutiny Court Martial , Lacy really gets to show his chops against heavyweight talent both in front of and behind the camera.

Join us for my conversation with Jake Lacy as we come from our PMC studios in New York City for this edition of my Deadline video series, The Actor’s Side. Just click the link above. Our talk begins as I point out they just announced a reboot of The Office, and I am wondering if Pete Miller might be coming back.
