Now that Inside Out 2 has officially conquered the global box office, the animated hit is ready to dominate home theaters everywhere. The film will be available for digital purchase on August 20th, with physical copies (including a limited-edition collectible Steelbook version) following on September 10th. In addition to the Steelbook edition, the Pixar flick will be available as a 4K UHD Blu-ray combo pack (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Code) and on standard DVD. Physical copies boast a range of special bonus features, including deleted scenes, an exploration of the new characters, and an in-depth breakdown of the scene “The Vault.”
Directed by Kelsey Mann and starring the likes of Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, and others, Inside Out 2 follows Riley, a new teen dealing with all of the emotions that come along with entering young adulthood. The film received a warm welcome from critics, including Consequence’s own Paolo Ragusa, who wrote in his review that “it’s rare to see topics like anxiety and shame handled so deftly in kids-centric content.”
Aside from being a critical success, Inside Out 2 has also smashed several box office records. It now stands as the biggest film of 2024, as well as the highest-grossing animated film in global box office history.
