‘Den of Thieves 3’ In Works; Gerard Butler & O’Shea Jackson Look to Return

In the wake of Den Of Thieves: Pantera grossing close to $50M around the globe, Lionsgate, Tucker Tooley Entertainment and Gerard Butler‘s G-BASE are putting Den of Thieves 3 into active development.

Butler is eyeing a return along with O’Shea Jackson. Lionsgate is currently in talks with writer-director Christian Gudegast. G-BASE banner partner Alan Siegel is producing.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera opened to No. 1 at the domestic box office to $15M and has grossed more than $32M stateside. The film launched on PVOD on Tuesday after an 18-day window. Worldwide the Den of Thieves franchise has grossed north of $126.5M.

Tucker Tooley Entertainment, produced and co-financed the first film and brought the franchise to Lionsgate from STX. Tooley will co-produce and jointly finance Den of Thieves 3 under his label and Lionsgate will, natch, release the next chapter.

Tucker Tooley Entertainment is a feature film and television finance and production company established by principals Tucker Tooley and Greg Renker. Tooley’s cinematic canon has minted more than $2.6 billion at the global box office.

Over a 10-month window between 2024 and 2025, Tooley delivered back-to-back hits, including Netflix’s No. 1 film The Deliverance and Lionsgate’s theatrical release Arthur the King, starring Mark Wahlberg. Other recent projects include Concrete Cowboy which also opened No1 for Netflix and The United Stated vs Billie Holiday which earned an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe win for lead actress Andra Day. The company’s documentary Finding Satoshi is set to release in 2025.

Butler and Siegel’s G-BASE has produced over 20 feature films since its inception in 2008, including Law Abiding Citizen, The Has Fallen TrilogyGreenland and Greenland: Migration, Plane and the eight-part television series Paris Has Fallen for StudioCanal on Hulu, soon to begin filming its second season.
