Celebrate Betty White’s 100th Birthday With A Movie Event

Beloved actress Betty White is turning 100 years old on January 17, 2022 and she is inviting everyone to celebrate with her.

Fathom Events will air Betty White: 100 Years Young- A Birthday Celebration in 900 theaters across the U.S. The movie will only air in select theaters on January 17 at 1pm and 7pm local time. Tickets will go on sale on December 17 at Fathom Events or at participating theater box offices.

Fillmmakers Steve Boettcher and Mike Trinklein joined together in the making of this once in a lifetime movie event.

Betty White: 100 Years Young—A Birthday Celebration offers a revealing glimpse into the actress’ life from working with her office staff, behind the scenes on TV and movie sets, entertaining at home or lending her voice as an animal advocate.

Fans will get to join her at her actual birthday party along with a bunch of star-studded cast of friends including Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey,?Robert Redford, Lin Manuel- Miranda, Clint Eastwood,?Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson,?Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli,?James Corden, Wendy Malick, and Jennifer Love Hewitt? and many more. According to the legend herself from a press release, “Who doesn’t love a party?!?  This one is gonna be GREAT!”

The special movie event is only airing for one night and is packed with clips from White’s most famous roles including Golden Girls, SNL, Hot in Cleveland, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Superbowl commercials and other career highlights.

Boettcher said in a press release, “We didn’t want this day to pass without bringing together all the people that love her, from her co-stars and friends to her many millions of fans of all ages, to celebrate her 100th birthday with an entertaining and loving look at what makes Betty a national treasure!” 

While White is loved by many around the world, her legacy and records add to why fans love her so much. She was the first woman to produce a national TV show, the first woman to star in a sitcom, the first producer to hire a female director, and the first woman to receive an Emmy nomination. And she is the first woman to ever appear on television, with a performance on a broadcast in the 1930s.

“Betty White is a beloved cultural icon. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone birthday with her and fans around the county,” said Daren Miller, Fathom Events VP, Programming, Strategy & Business Affairs.
