Cardi B Warns ‘This World Is Full of Predators’ Amid Dalai Lama Scandal

On Monday, Cardi B took to social media to discuss child predators after viewing a viral video of the Dalai Lama

“This world is full of predators,” the mother of two tweeted. “They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children. Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money, power & our churches.”

Cardi advised parents on how to protect their children, writing, “Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them.”

One user responded to Cardi’s message saying, “This!!!! My mama was so overprotective. I hated growing up, but I’m grateful for it cause it’s some sick people out here.”

The “Money” rapper agreed with the fan, replying, “Yeup….no sleep overs nothing!!!”

But others questioned the Grammy-winner’s stance on the situation due to an admitted past of drugging and robbing men during her days as a dancer. She clapped back at the haters while mentioning her own experience dealing with abuse, saying, “I put the tweet up, and now people wanna come at me like, ‘Oh bitch, you’re the wrong messenger, didn’t you rob and drug men?’ And it’s like listen, listen: y’all not gonna keep doing this. Because when it comes to weird ass predators, and rapists, and pedophiles and shit, I’m really—I don’t play that shit. I really don’t fucking play that shit.”

She explained how her wrongdoings are not comparable to child molestation. “I’m the right messenger, because I’m a fucking mom. And I’m a fucking woman. And I’m a girl that, as a teenager, my body got abused.”

The 30-year-old noted that her past was another story for another time, but emphasized that she shouldn’t get attacked for advising parents to watch over their children.

After dealing with a wave of people coming at her, Cardi B said in two tweets, “I gotta get off the internet…shit is insane !!! I’m getting dragged up and down because I’m telling parents to be careful on people that prey on children…it’s craziness. … Wow all this support I’m getting at the same time is beautiful. It was deep in my heart to talk about this cause me & my friend was talkin last night & then the dalai lama thing happen this morning.”

The news comes after the 87-year-old Buddhist spiritual leader apologized after receiving backlash for kissing and asking a young boy to “suck his tongue” on video

“His Holiness wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused. His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras. He regrets the incident,” stated the office for the Dalai Lama on Monday.
