BRING HER BACK Trailer Looks Like Another Unsettling A24 Winner

Talk to Me, which came out in 2022, was one of the creepiest horror films to come out in years. The feature debut of Australian twin directors Danny and Michael Philippou, the film about an embalmed hand that facilitates access to the other side, received rave reviews. And it made $92 million at the box office, off a $4 million budget. The duo is finally releasing their long-awaited follow-up film, also coming from the folks at A24. Now, we have the first teaser for their sophomore film, titled Bring Her Back. You can see the goosebump-inducing new trailer for Bring Her Back right here:

Bring Her Back stars The Shape of Water’s Sally Hawkins. She stars alongside breakout actors Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, and Jonah Wren Phillips. The trailer for Bring Her Back is mostly just a series of off-lputting images coupled with some unsettling vibes. So we have very little idea about the film’s overall plot. Judging from the teaser though, we’d guess this has some Pet Sematary energy going on. Something to do perhaps with ancient magic used to bring back a dead child. That seems to be the impression we got. Also, much like Pet Sematary, it certainly appears that a housecat features prominently.

If Bring Her Back is anywhere near as good as Talk To Me, then we think that directing siblings Danny and Michael Philippou could be the next James Wan, Jordan Peele, or Ari Aster. This current modern era of horror filmmakers has no shortage of visionaries creating memorable new films. And it seems that studio A24 releases a great deal of them these days. Hopefully, Bring Her Back becomes yet another hit for the studio, in the grand tradition of Hereditary, and more recently, Heretic.

Bring Her Back arrives in theaters everywhere on May 30.
