Blake Lively’s new movie It Ends With Us, based on the hit book of the same name, has been making tons of headlines in recent days for all the wrong reasons.
Since hitting movie theaters on Friday, August 9, there has been a deluge of reports about the on-set drama between star Blake Lively and co-star/director Justin Baldoni.
The latest reports about the duo’s on-set strife come from TMZ, which says that Lively believes Baldoni fat-shamed her and kissed her too long when filming an intimate scene, which is made all the more complicated by the fact that Baldoni, the director, cast himself in the romantic role opposite Lively.
“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … there was a scene in which Justin lifts Blake into the air. According to our sources, Justin has a history of back problems and before lifting Blake, he went to his on-set trainer and asked how much she weighed and how could he train to protect his back from injury.”
“Our sources tell us the second incident that allegedly made Blake uncomfortable on set is when the two engaged in a kissing scene and Blake felt he lingered longer than he should have with the kiss.”
In the wake of the litany of reports about on-set drama between him and Lively, Baldoni has reportedly hired PR crisis manager Melissa Nathan, who represented embattled movie star Johnny Depp during the Amber Heard trial.
Based on the 2016 Colleen Hoover novel of the same name, Baldoni directed It Ends with Us and also stars as Lively’s character’s abusive boyfriend.
In addition to Lively and Baldoni, It Ends with Us stars Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, and Hasan Minhaj. The reports of drama between Lively and Baldoni have overshadowed that the film has been a box office success, as it grossed over $90 million against a $25 million budget and hasn’t even been in theaters for a full week (at the time of this writing).
