The 16 minute-long video pays tribute to ABS-CBN’s community and everyday heroes around the country
MANILA, Philippines – The ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID has become a beloved holiday tradition over the years, and this year, the network paid tribute to its community with the 2022 edition released on Friday, November 18.
As always, this year’s station ID features ABS-CBN stars singing the station’s Christmas anthem, wearing the station’s colors.
Darna stars Jane de Leon, Janella Salvador, and Joshua Garcia open the 16-minute-long video as they perform the opening line’s to this year’s Christmas song, “Tayo Ang Ligaya ng Isa’t Isa.”
The network’s talents are shown on-screen singing: Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, Ogie Alcasid, Anne Curtis, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Gerald Anderson, Enchong Dee, Piolo Pascual, Sarah Geronimo, and more.
The stars’ appearances are interspersed with clips showing traditional Filipino Christmas scenes: carolers singing, steaming bibingka being sold on the streets, parols lighting up houses, and families reuniting.
This year’s station ID also includes the stories of everyday heroes such as calamity emergency responders, a teacher who provided snacks for his students, a backhoe operator who returned to school to inspire his kids to study, a stroke survivor and his family, a father who started a group for parents of Leukemia patients like him, and an OFW family reunited after four years .
The video also shows the stars paying tribute to behind-the-scenes members of the ABS-CBN family: office staff, bayan patrollers, camera crew, street sweepers, garbage collectors, and healthcare workers.
