Every once in a while, when the stars align and the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, a movie comes along with all the ingredients it needs to become a cinematic icon. It’s a great story, written by the best in the screenwriting business, matched with a director who completely understands what it’s all about. It’s perfectly cast. The music is just right. The special effects are cutting edge but not overdone. You started standing in line at the box office as soon as you heard about it.
Don’t Miss
Aaaaaand it turns out to be a complete dud. Sometimes, it’s hard to say where it went wrong — everything was there, it just didn’t come together. Other times, you know exactly who fucked up, and you hold a grudge against them for the rest of your moviegoing existence.
