Matteo Bocelli‘s name might sound familiar.

That’s likely because the 26-year-old shares it with his father, the world-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.

However, for the first time ever, the young Bocelli is stepping into a spotlight of his own. He recently announced he’s embark’s on his debut headlining tour, ‘A Night with Matteo’ this fall.

The 12-concert North American leg of the tour begins with a trio of Tri-State area stops.

First, Bocelli drops into Red Bank, NJ’s Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre on Friday, Nov. 29.

After that, his tour buses head to Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Saturday, Nov. 30 and New York City’s Town Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Besides inheriting his father’s looks, Bocelli has embraced his family’s musical talent. He recently graduated from the lesser-known Conservatory of Lucca in Italy, perhaps more notably known as the birthplace of Puccini.

Post-matriculation, he toured with family last spring and debuted his solo album, “Matteo,” in September 2023. Capitol Records released the 12-track album, which he’ll perform on the road with local backup musicians to create a lush, virtuosic pad for him to sing over.

If you want to see him live, tickets for all shows can be scooped up as soon as today.

Matteo Bocelli new music

Comprised of 12 tracks, “Matteo” is a perfect blend of English and Italian lyrics, seamlessly weaving in his heritage and soaring voice into gorgeously-arranged pop.

After a few spins, we kept coming back to the upbeat lead track “For You,” impassioned, danceable “Fasi” and vulnerable “I’m Here.”

Still, the true standout is the triumphant, anthemic “Piove (Solo L’amore).” It’s a show-stopper that sounds more than a little like Andrea.

If you’d like to hear for yourself, you can find “Matteo” here.
