Williams always makes time for her workouts. “I wake up around 7.30 and I will always bring my dog Winston for a walk first thing; he will stare me down until he gets brought out, so his walk is the top of my list everyday,” she says. “Most weeks, I train five or six times. I’ll always fit it in, even if it means getting up crazy early. I do lots of free weights and high-intensity workouts.”

Williams enjoys both the physical and mental benefits of regular exercise. “When I’m in Dublin I get a lot of personal training sessions or I’ll go out for lots of long walks with my dog and catch up with friends at the same time,” she says. “I have quite bad anxiety so working out keeps that at bay, it makes me feel healthy in my body and mind and it’s why I love it so much.”

A typical breakfast for Williams is eggs and avocado on two slices of toast. “Avocados are an excellent source of monounsaturated fat and vitamin E, and are a good source of folate,” says registered nutritionist Jo Lewin. “They also supply more soluble fiber than other fruit and contain a number of useful minerals including iron, copper and potassium. The oils supplied by avocado include oleic acid and linoleic acid. These unsaturated fats are recommended as part of a balanced diet to help manage cholesterol.”

Williams knows the importance of having balance in her diet. “I do like to follow a healthy diet but don’t get me wrong, I do sometimes eat rubbish!” she says. “I like to have at least one treat a day. I think if you’re too strict with yourself you end up craving the bad stuff even more. If I’m going out for dinner I’ll eat whatever I want, but then I’ll make sure I make healthier choices the next day. You can’t be too hard on yourself. I think it’s really important to strike a balance. If you’ve done a good workout in the gym and then you fancy a pizza, then have that pizza! You have to live your best life.”

Williams enjoys cooking at home whenever possible. “I really enjoy cooking. I probably don’t do it as much as I should though,” she says. “I do a lot of batch cooking, like I recently made a load of bruschetta the other day and I’ll also make up a batch of bolognaise. I really love to cook a good steak with vegetables. I like simple food that’s healthy and easy to cook.”
