Tasha loves dancing. It is one of her favorite ways to stay fit. She even has her heart set on landing a spot on Strictly Come Dancing. “It will happen, you have to believe in it!” she told OK! Magazine in a recent interview. “I think Strictly would be really interesting because its [dancing] styles I’ve never done before so it would be a challenge. So who knows!”
Tasha, born deaf, is doing her part in raising awareness for the deaf community. On the show, she declared it her “superpower” and is proud of it. “I’m confident enough to be open about it so people were aware to ensure I didn’t get pushed in the pool or people didn’t cover their mouths so I couldn’t lip read,” she told OK! The deaf community has embraced her. “Even my mum and dad have been getting messages. There’s been thousands. It’s overwhelming, but in the best possible way,” she added. “I’ve walked out feeling like I’ve done something good. There were hard times but coming out and seeing what the deaf community has said has been so nice. I hope I’ve shown that it is a superpower.”
Tasha’s former personal trainer Joshua Kempton (and former Love Island contestant) told Women’s Health that Tasha trained four to five times a week when they worked together. They would do a lower body workout – focused on hamstrings and an upper body and core workout – and also a cardio day, a workout focusing on glutes, and another looking at the whole body.
“Tasha’s goals were to get stronger and be the best version of herself both physically and mentally,” Josh told Women’s Health. “She’s got strong mobility and a disciplined mindset to progress with training,’ Josh explains, while it was the nutrition element that Tasha needed most guidance with. ‘She struggled with it, but she was eager to learn, and she always adhered to my tips.”
Tasha approaches her diet with “moderation,” says Josh. She tries to incorporate all food groups, allowing herself to splurge on occasion. She also consumes a high protein diet to help with her intense workout sessions and eats carbohydrates to fuel her energy. “Without them, she’d never have sustained and recovered the workout routine we set together,” he told Women’s Health.
