Stephen A. Smith Advises Serena Williams’ Husband To Leave Her

Stephen A. Smith has some advice for Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who is married to Serena Williams: break up with her. Smith made the comments on the Monday episode of First Take following Super Bowl LIX.

Serena Williams made headlines over the weekend when she appeared on the field as a dancer during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show performance. Williams — who previously dated Drake and is also from Compton like Kendrick — could be seen crip-walking while Lamar was playing his hit Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”

Given Williams’ fame and her past connection to Drake — the pair were rumored to be dating for a bit in the mid 2010s — the moment instantly went viral.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith had quite the unique perspective on the moment, however, as he encourage Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian to leave her over the dance.

“If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his a–, ‘cause clearly you don’t belong with me,” Smith said. “What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye. Bye.”

Despite Smith’s hot takery, Ohanian seemed to be plenty supportive of Serena’s participation in the performance.

“Pretty fantastic halftime show. Some of y’all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago and it shows…. This is bigger than the music,” he wrote on social media on Sunday.
