Gomez told Vogue that she always tries to stay hydrated, especially when she’s on tour. “I always have water, tons of water. It’s even in my bathroom because I used to be so bad at drinking water and I want to stay hydrated. I have a juicer I’m staring at right now, so I always have my vegetables and my fruit for the juicer. I do two carrots, ginger, I do one piece of celery—I know, that’s lame, but one—and then half of a beet. Those are the things I always keep around.”
Gomez admits that she’s not a fan of going to the gym, but she has an alternative way of working out. “I don’t love working out, but I find myself going on YouTube and doing workout videos,” she revealed in a Marie Claire interview. “Anything from old-school workout videos to more current ones.”
Gomez and her trainer, Amy Rosoff Davis, like to vary the singer’s workouts so she doesn’t get bored. “I was doing Pilates, SoulCycle, every form of yoga,” she says to Vogue. “Basically, I wanted to mix things up because I get bored easily. I just try to keep it fresh.
Gomez does have a favorite workout, and it is Pilates. “I love how Pilates makes me feel, like it opens me up,” she says to Vogue. “I have the hardest time breathing, weirdly enough. Even when I have conversations, I need to work on my breathing, so it’s something I enjoy because it’s peaceful and it helps me relax. And I’m doing two shows back to back [today], and that’s cardio in itself.”
Gomez avoids the scale, says her trainer, Amy Rosoff Davis, to Cosmopolitan. “I’ve never weighed her,” she said. “I don’t believe in scales — I just don’t think it’s healthy.” Davis says that she just observes Gomez’s body changes. “I can definitely see the difference, and other people can too,” she said. “But ultimately, a body that eats well and works is going to look better because it’s healthy.”
Gomez is a fan of fast food joints, but her trainer, Amy Rosoff Davis, steers her away from them. “She loves Tex-Mex and fast food that I would normally not condone,” Davis said of the singer to Cosmopolitan. “I will walk onto the tour bus and smell fast food, throw it in the trash, and hand her a carrot and hummus.” Davis makes sure that Gomez is eating whole, healthy food, but the singer does indulge from time to time. Gomez told Cosmopolitan, “I’m doing a 90-minute show, I’m doing it twice or three times a day, if I spoil myself a little bit, it’s alright.”
