Viall and his podcast co-hosts wasted no time revealing their thoughts concerning Fuller and DePhillipo’s former relationship, which can be confirmed ended on-screen with an engagement.

He and Joy discussed DePhillipo’s fear of commitment to start.

“Listen, I’m not trying to criticize Johnny, y’know, in this regard, it’s less of a criticism, more than like, an observation. An observation from someone who wasn’t emotionally invested in that moment, who can see it a little more honestly, a little more objectively,” Viall began.

“The reality is, he very much communicated throughout the season, his reluctance, his fears, about getting engaged, and his readiness for getting engaged. It was clearly a big part of his storyline with Gabby [Windey]. At one time he’s telling us, America, he’s afraid of commitment, and maybe it’s because he has been hurt, like he referenced that. [And] then he’s telling Victoria something completely different,” Viall continued.

“I understand why,” he went on. “You don’t want to sound confused or unsure of your feelings, so you play it up. But, I’m not accusing Johnny of lying to Victoria, I’m just saying those matter, that disconnect matters. He also said something at the proposal, which was very kind of sweet, but he said to her, he was trying to validate Victoria, and he said, “I’ve never felt so sure of myself or confident, he was basically saying ‘you’re all the reasons why I feel this way now,’ and that was very sweet, but objectively you should want to feel that way on your own, and you can’t rely on someone else to be the reason why you believe in yourself, and the reason you finally have confidence. It’s honestly too much pressure on any one relationship,” Viall continued.

“It’s a very relatable feeling and it happens in relationships all the time,” Viall went on. “It’s not a criticism to Johnny, but I think as we get into, obviously they’re no longer together, they broke up, I think it would behoove Johnny to like, recognize that and take some accountability that while I’m sure he’s upset and he has a right to be upset, and he has a right for his feelings to be heard, that maybe they weren’t just a good match. Maybe it was just as toxic as Victoria claims it was…”

Viall revealed Fuller will be a guest on next week’s episode of “The Viall Files,” and the hosts would indeed have many more questions for her!
