A man who holds the world record for lifetime number of McDonald’s Big Macs eaten has just reached another wild milestone more than 50 years after starting his journey.

Donald Gorske’s love affair with McDonald’s signature menu item has seen him chow down on at least one Big Mac every day since 1972 and while the world record holder aims to slow down during his golden years, he has no intention of stopping.

With over 35,000 Big Macs banked, Gorske provided an update on his fast-food adventure, sharing some words of wisdom with any foodie looking to break his record.

Tricks of the trade

“The advice I’d give to someone who would like to challenge my record title is ‘don’t’”, Gorske told Guiness World Records on March 19, 2025, claiming that he could be the only human on Mother Earth with a metabolism robust enough to survive such an endeavor.

“I’ll be dead before you could even challenge it,” he continued, adding, “I’m blessed with a high metabolism and good health which allow me to eat Big Macs without gaining a lot of weight. I might be the only person alive who could eat Big Macs every day without ill effects.”

Gorske has eaten over 35,000 Big Macs since his first in 1972.

To ensure his streak remained unbroken over the years, Gorske revealed that he stored Big Macs in the freezer and made bulk purchases whenever adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevented him from reaching his local.

Gorske appeared in Morgan Spurlock’s 2004 documentary, Super Size Me, where he and his family were interviewed by Spurlock about his love of McDonald’s.

As for what the future holds, the Big Mac’s Biggest Fan intends to continue Lovin’ It until the day he dies. “I probably will be eating Big Macs every day for the rest of my life. When I go out, my boys can write down which Big Mac was the last one I ate, and they can tell people ‘this is how many Big Macs will kill you!’”
