Lana Del Rey’s country era is here. Ahead of the upcoming release of a new country-tinged album, the pop star performed at Stagecoach on Friday night, unveiling several new songs and making a claim that countless country fans wish they could: that she “kissed Morgan Wallen.”
The moment happened during the second-to-last song of the night, a new composition titled “57.5” (a reference to Del Rey’s streaming stats, with the refrain “I got 57.5 million listeners on Spotify”). At one point in the song, the arrangement came down and she told the crowd she would only say the next line only once, at which point she made the reveal. “I kissed Morgan Wallen,” she sang, more like a confession than a sung lyric.
In response, the audience roared with excitement, so much so that it almost drowned out Del Rey’s next few lines. Through the noise, though, she stood strong, pivoting to poking fun at Wallen with raised eyebrows and a comical, advice-giving sparkle in her eye.

“I guess kissing me kind of went to his head,” she sang. “If you want my secret to success, don’t go ATVing with him when you’re out west.” Watch a video of the moment below.
Other highlights of Del Rey’s set included the brand new opening number “Husband of Mine,” the previously-released singles “Henry, Come On” and “Bluebird,” duets with George Birge and Secret Sisters, and classic country covers “Stand By Your Man” and “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Scroll down to check out the full setlist.
Del Rey’s country album was originally titled Lasso when its existence was first revealed. Then, last November, she retitled it The Right Person Will Stay and slated it for release on May 21st, 2025. Earlier this month, though, she said the album’s release would be pushed back, and it would receive a new name. Nonetheless, it’s still one of the most anticipated albums of 2025.
Meanwhile, Del Rey will hop the pond for a number of tour dates in the UK and Ireland in June and July, followed by a set at Hinterland 2025 in St. Charles, Iowa this August (get tickets here).
