Keke Palmer‘s motherhood journey unlocked her superpower!
Exactly one week after her baby daddy, Darius Daulton Jackson, caused an online frenzy with his reaction to a revealing outfit she wore to an Usher show, the actress opened up about her life as a first-time mom. She revealed that she has become even “more powerful” after welcoming her son, Leodis “Leo” Andrellton, earlier this year while striving to love her body as it is.
Keke Palmer Has Embraced Her Post-Baby Body Amid Her Self-Love Journey
Palmer has ignored all the noise of the past few days and focused on the best part of her life — being a mom. She dished on her experience during a chat with The Cut for the cover of the outlet’s July issue, stating:
“After having my baby, I’ve just gotten so much more powerful. I’m just so strengthened in a crazy way. Strutting my stuff, enjoying.”
Explaining further, the “Akeelah and the Bee” child star stated that she had been “actually quite self-conscious” before she welcomed her baby boy, partly due to her role as a “public figure” who had to strive to maintain a flawless appearance. In her words:
“Always trying to be on point with my body and always trying to make sure I’m taking care of this and that. There’s a lot of physical attention.”
The need to remain publicly desirable pushed her to put pressure on herself to regain her pre-baby physique until celebrity trainer, Corey Calliet, helped her embrace the many transformations that motherhood brought.
The internet personality started by telling her that they were “never going to try and get” her “body back to how it was before a baby” because that was “not something to hide” but “something to embrace.”
As far as Calliet was concerned, it would be more productive for her to “lean into this new body.” The advice seems to have worked for Palmer, who claimed to the outlet:
“That is the whole aura of what’s happening with me in this big boss era as I come into my 30s and I have my baby boy. I’m just continuing to spread my wings as a young woman. My headspace is just to continue to inspire and encourage myself and anybody else who wants to go down that road with me.”
Later in the conversation, the 29-year-old confirmed that she was committed to embracing her self-worth while acknowledging her past experiences and journey to reach her current standpoint.
When asked to advise fellow mothers in similar circumstances, Palmer urged them to embrace their individuality, declaring, “Do you, new moms. Do you.” She also expressed, “Girl, if there’s one person on this earth that loves you for sure, it’s that baby. Be happy, because there’s no love like it. Somebody loving you like that, hell, who cares?”

As for the drama surrounding her and Jackson’s relationship, The Blast observed that the latter had deleted all the images and videos that contained their loved-up moments since becoming official in 2021. Even though he left the posts of their four-month-old son behind, the production manager’s deletion of him and Palmer’s content hinted at the demise of their relationship.
While fans continue sitting on the edge of their seats in anticipation of an update on their status, it should be noted that Jackson came under fire for calling the “Abducted: The Carlina White Story” actress out on social media. In case you missed it, a clip of the mother-of-one rocking a sheer black gown that left her derrière completely bare, save for a matching thong line, to an Usher concert surfaced on Twitter last week.
The video not only showed other guests enjoying the show, but it also included views of Palmer swooning as the “Love in this Club” hitmaker serenaded her. Even though many people loved and praised the duo for the entertaining scene, the same could not be said for Jackson, who quoted the tweet, writing, “It’s the outfit, tho.. you a mom.”
The fitness enthusiast then doubled down on the snide statement when his baby mama’s fans began attacking him for it. He tweeted, “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
Palmer’s only acknowledgment of the debacle came through the release of graphic shirts that read, “I’m a Motha” and “Stevie to the Bullsh*t” a few days later.
