Joseph Quinn was in good company as he was welcomed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The British actor praised his A Quiet Place: Day One co-star Lupita Nyong’o after she gave him some advice when he was cast as Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch) in the upcoming Fantastic Four.
“She said that I’m going to have a blast and to enjoy it,” Quinn told People. “She was very helpful when I was considering all of that stuff. She’s obviously part of that world and spoke about her experience with a lot of fondness, so it was encouraging.”
His casting in the upcoming Matt Shakman-helmed MCU reboot was confirmed in February, along with Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka The Thing). Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are writing the script for The Fantastic Four.
Nyong’o joined the MCU as Nakia in 2018’s Black Panther, having since returned for the 2022 sequel Wakanda Forever.
“I’ve given him the Ten Commandments of Marvel,” she previously told Extra of Quinn’s induction into the MCU.
Quinn noted he “can’t say anything,” joking: “They’ll come for the people I care about.”
The Stranger Things alum confirmed that filming on The Fantastic Four begins at the “end of July,” before addressing the possibility of joining Nyong’o’s Nakia onscreen. “We’d be lucky to have her,” said Quinn.
A Quiet Place: Day One is now playing in theaters.
