Joe Rogan has been dethroned on the list of Spotify’s most popular comedy podcasts by a new show hosted by Amy Poehler.
Joe Rogan’s massive podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience, has remained at the top of Spotify’s most popular podcast charts for years – but occasionally, another show comes through and takes away its number one spot.
Motivational speaker Mel Robbins dethroned JRE as the most popular podcast back in February, just weeks after former guest Shawn Ryan did the same with his own show.
On Friday, March 21, Joe Rogan was dethroned yet again – this time on the list of top comedy podcasts.
Amy Poehler’s new show dethrones JRE as top podcast
First announced back in February, Comedian Amy Poehler’s new show ‘Good Hang with Amy Poehler’ launched its first two episodes on Tuesday, March 18, and fans immediately flocked to the app.
Each week, Amy interviews celebrities and other “fun people” to share stories about their careers and what’s been making them laugh.
“This podcast is not about trying to make you better or giving advice. Amy just wants to have a good time,” reads the description on Spotify.
Her first two episodes feature fellow comedians Tina Fey and Martin Short, who both have appeared alongside Poehler on Saturday Night Live over the years.
When it comes to the rest of the top five Spotify comedy podcasts, you’ll find JRE in second with Theo Von, Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy, and Matt and Shane’s Secret podcast right behind him.
Including every other genre of podcast, however, Amy Poehler’s new podcast has taken the top spot overall on the app. She ended up pushing Joe Rogan down to the third most popular show on the platform. Meanwhile, Mel Robbins remains in second place, with MeidasTouch and The Martyr Made podcast rounding out the top five.
