Jelly Roll Launches 5K Run Club

Jelly Roll Launches 5K Run Club

Jelly Roll has launched a run club dubbed, Jelly Roll’s Losers Run Club,.

The announcement came via a video posted this past week, in which the singer shared a bit about his own health journey. “A little bit over a year ago, I literally struggled to walk down my hill to the mailbox, y’all,” he began. “I mean, it was really bad.”

What helped him get into exercise, he explained, was finding motivation in a 5K put on by Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer in 2024. “I saw that Bert and Tom Segura had teased doing a ‘5K by May,’ and I knew right then that if there was ever a place that I was gonna feel safe trying to do my first 5K, it was going to be at the 2 Bears 5K.”

Now, Jelly is reuniting with Kreischer and Segura for the 2025 2 Bears 5K on May 4th in Tampa, Florida, and this time he’s inviting others to participate in the journey by joining the Losers Run Club. Through a Facebook group and the app Strava, participants will benefit from “lifestyle tips, training tips, diet and exercise tips,” as well as a plan from runner Matthew Johnson to help get from “couch to 5K.”

And for those who feel daunted by that much running, Jelly reassured that “we use the word ‘run’ loosely here, y’all,” noting that he himself walked his first 5K.

To that end, Jelly explained, “What we are trying to inspire here is just change and belief and community. Somewhere where you can go and feel judgment-free when you’re trying to figure this thing out. I know how rough it was at first and how embarrassed I was to just be sucking snot and air every time I walked down the driveway. But it felt so good to have friends and people behind me, telling me I was doing the right thing.”

With the power of community, he hopes “that we can create huge change right here. I believe a huge group of people can come together right here and encourage each other to become what they always dreamed they could be.” Watch the full video announcement below.

In other Jelly Roll news, he recently joined the star-studded lineup at the FireAid benefit concert last month. After the 5K run in May, he will hit the road with Post Malone for their “Big Ass Stadium Tour,” stopping in cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, and many more. Get tickets here.
