I bagged my uni crush and he’s the reason I have no student debt – he might have been a nymphomanic but it was worth it

Influencer Cassidy Joys shared the suprising story in a recent Tiktok

CRUSHES can feel often all-consuming, with us obsessing over every text and wondering whether we should risk asking them out on a date.

One woman has revealed that her university crush helped her bag some serious money, despite her not ending up in a relationship.

Like many students, Cassidy Joy Watson fell for someone in her class.

Whilst others were cramming for exams and spending hours in the library, this Hawaiian content creator decided to pursue the object of her affection – by any means necessary.

Though she might not have found her perfect match, the brief romance actually helped set her up for the future.

Responding to another Tiktok content creator, Cass revealed the ‘crazy’ lengths she’d gone to impressive lengths to just catch the attention of her crush.

“I had a huge crush on this guy in college and I used to sit behind him in one of our classes,” she confessed, adding: “He would always have his screen open to his stock portfolio, [with] different charts and patterns.”

Keen to play Cupid, the then-teenager decided to learn about the stock market and hoped that it would improve her chance with her crush.

Laughing at her younger self, she said: “I learned everything I could about the stock and I would sit…so he could see my screen and see that I was looking at stock patterns as well.”

Though most of us would have given up here, the college student decided to take a risk on romance and put her savings into the stock market.

Instead of seeking professional advice before draining her entire savings account, she decided to use the investment app Thinkorswim to help her start trading.

“I would wake up at 3:00 am every single morning because that is what time the stock market opens in my time zone,” she admitted, revealing that she would post about it on her Snapchat stories.

Against all odds, her crush finally responded to one of her posts.

The college student then began discussing everything related to stocks with Cass cringingly telling him that ‘financial literacy is key’.

Rolling her eyes at her younger self, she added: “[He said] ‘I didn’t know you were into day trading and I was like ‘yeah…I’m trying to diversify my stock portfolio right…do you have any tips?’”

People think my husband is my SON because he looks so young – they don’t believe me when I reveal his real age

Sadly, theirs wasn’t a love story for the ages.

In addition to ‘mansplaining’ the stock market to her, Cass claimed that the unnamed student was a ‘nymphomaniac’ and abruptly dropped out of college.

Having learnt so much about stocks and shares, the influencer decided to keep investing and even managed to graduate without any debt.

Given that US students spend tens of thousands of pounds for their courses, it is a pretty impressive accomplishment and Cass even joked about this in the caption.

She wrote: “Admittedly this worked in my favour.”

Others were also amazed by her story, with multiple people likening her to Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde.

“You are the Elle Woods of stock market,” gushed one fan, with another adding: “Bro nonchalantly changed your life.”

As the video went viral and gained over 4.3 million views, a third joked: “A win is a win.”

Whilst we would never recommend this approach to managing your money, we are just glad that it worked out for this content creator.
