Fat Joe Calls Out Concertgoers Who Are Stuck to Their Cellphones

Fat Joe has some advice for concertgoers: Put down the mobile devices and enjoy yourself.

The hip-hop legend explained his position via Instagram Live this week, where he stressed the importance of living in the moment, especially when it comes to events like live concerts.

“We live one life … If you go to a show, and you pull your camera out and you’re recording, you’re not really in the moment,” Joe said as he made a morning drive. “You’re recording what’s going on. You’re not enjoying it. If you know how to live in the moment … Put some fire signs if you understand what I’m saying. If you don’t then you lost, ’cause this social media got n***as lost. If you can feel the moment, if you can be in the moment, not recording … You can live in the moment.”

Joe continued to push the YOLO philosophy and reminded his followers to follow their dreams and do what makes them happy.

“Listen guys, you only live once. There’s never been nobody on earth, that I know of, to make a U-turn and come back,” he continued. “You have to make the best of your life while you’re here … Some people don’t care about material things, some people don’t care about money. Maybe just being with your family makes you happy, you’re in the moment. You’re doing what makes you happy.”

Joe said living in the moment has also helped him become much more appreciative of everyday blessings, and encouraged the youth to adopt that mindset. He then pointed out that many young people have time and health on their side, which allows them to take bigger risks.

“Go for what you know, don’t make no excuses. Invest. You want to open a business, invest,” he said. “You got the mn=ney you saved up. If you lose, save up some more money and invest again. Nobody makes it on the first try … And when you fall and you lose, it’s just an experience to help you for the future. You live once. Enjoy your life.”
