Ellie Gonsalves is a model and fitness expert. She placed second on the 2022 series of Big Brother VIP in Australia. Gonsalves is open about her fitness secrets. Gonsalves makes sure to work out consistently. However, she does Body + Soul that she doesn’t like to pressure herself or over-exercise. “Everything in moderation,” she said. ““I don’t really pressure myself to do something every single day. I think that’s where it starts to get a bit obsessive. It’s just about keeping active as much as I can, while still enjoying it – and I think a lot of people can relate to that.”
Gonsalves shared her wellness secrets with Body + Soul. She says that she did a lot of research to find the best options. “When I started to really focus on my health and well-being, it was mainly the aesthetics that was motivating me to really get into health and fitness. I literally just went and researched as much as I possibly could to figure out how I could be as healthy as I could to have a really amazing career as a model.”
Gonsalves also believes in moderation when it comes to her diet. “You need to be able to go work out and enjoy, but also go out and enjoy life and not sit in a restaurant with all of your friends and be like ‘I can’t eat that because it’s not on my meal plan’,” she told FEMAIL. “I found that consistency has been the best part of my transformation, having a consistent meal plan that’s healthy and clean and you do that 80 percent of the time and the other 20 percent indulge and have doughnuts and whatever it is you want.”
Gonsalves shared her tips for healthy eating with FEMAIL. “I’ll meal prep as well, I love to meal prep. Whenever I’m on the go, I’ll grab it from the fridge and chuck it in the microwave and I’m ready to go. My lunch is super nutritious as well which keeps my energy levels up which is what I need because when I crash I turn into hangry Ellie and that’s not good for anyone.”
When it comes to posting her fitness secrets, Gonsalves ignores her weight. “I don’t share my weight, before or after; I was taught that the most important thing to remember is muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less room in the room,” she told Body + Soul. “I personally believe it’s not about ‘weight’; a big mistake a lot of people make is they go on weight loss as progress when it’s body fat percentage and lean muscle mass that should be the focus… so instead of sharing my ‘weight’, I share my progress, my transformation photos, and experiences about how this lifestyle transformed by skin, health and energy levels – that speaks volumes.”
