Elle King is forced to cancel her upcoming shows after she fell down the stairs and became concussed.
Elle King Was Making A Bottle
The Grammy-nominated singer was performing mommy duties late at night when she slipped and really hurt herself. “Hey guys, Just wanted to check in with a quick update and apologize to my fans in Tampa, Detroit, and Seattle,” she beings her message. There are three upcoming shows that she has been promoting on her social media platforms for weeks.
“I share your disappointment that I had to cancel my radio shows this week. No one ever wants to pull out of shows, especially me. I live for performing.”
“I slipped down the stairs making a bottle in the middle of the night, knocked my ass out, resulting in a concussion.,” she further explains.
Elle King Tried To Keep Going
Initially, the 33-year-old refused to cancel her shows, she didn’t want to disappoint her loyal fans but she had to listen to her body and just settle down for a hot minute. “I tried to push through and played 3 shows, but the travel, lights, all of it only exacerbated things,” she says.
It’s factual that you definitely should not be jumping around on stage, dancing under hot flashing lights, and most importantly, traveling especially on an airplane. Heeding the doctor’s advice, the mom of one chose to sit this one out, for now.
She pointed out to her fans that she did not leave them high and dry and will be back soon; it’s only three shows! In the meantime, other artists are filling her big shoes.
Elle King Arranged A New Show For Fans
“I’d like to thank the artists that stepped in and filled my slots, as well as the radio stations for their understanding and continued support,” she said noting that there is a show, just not hers. She ended her message with a huge thank you.
“I wish you all happy and healthy holidays and I can’t wait to get back out next year and sing with you soon,” so 2023 will be when she is on stage next and year its several weeks away but, it’s happening.
The wait could actually be good because Elle had a boatload of new material to jam along to in 2023. Her next album is dropping on January 27 cleverly titled, Come Get Your Wife based on something a man yelled at her partner in a bar after she beat him in a game.
This is King’s first full-length album in five long years the single, “Try Jesus” is climbing the charts and low-key solidifying King a spot in the pop country genre.
“This whole album and everything is revealing a lot more about myself because now I’m much more comfortable because I have nothing… It’s not that I don’t have anything to prove, because I’ll always prove it to you. I will. I love to,” she shared with People.
“But I’m being much more revealing about my life and about a part of my life that I’ve been so protective of, which is where my family’s from and where my family still lives in Ohio, and what truly made me who I am and what brought me here.”
Get better Elle!
