Christy Turlington’s Son’s Opponents Used Photos To Heckle Him

If you have ever wondered what happens to kids whose mothers have modeled in the buff for photos that can be found anywhere on the internet, supermodel Christy Turlington says it goes pretty much how you might expect it to go.

Turlington, who shot to fame in the 1980s and 1990s as one of the first women to be referred to as a supermodel, has appeared in and on the covers of dozens of international fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, L’Officiel, Tatler, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and more, says her 18-year-old son Finn’s high school basketball opponents passed around a photo of her not wearing any clothes from one of her old photo shoots.

“I was surprised it hadn’t happened sooner,” Turlington admitted to Harper’s Bazaar in a new interview.

“But at the same time, I was like, ‘This is so rude!’”

Then, things, as they often do in sticky situations such as this, got worse.

Turlington says that it turned into a “bigger thing” when school administrators got involved.

“All I wanted to do was disappear,” she said.

At the same time, she says that she doesn’t “feel embarrassed about anything.”

“Regretting things is a waste of time,” she added.

It helps that, on the advice of her 20-year-old daughter Grace, Christy Turlington has the comments on her Instagram posts disabled.

“I’m really happy that I don’t [have to see],” she said. “I can’t say that I’m Teflon. I’m sure if I did read something that was pointed or mean, it would hurt me in the same way.

“But I also try not to give that much attention to any of it.”

Grace, who is following in her mother’s famous footsteps by pursuing a modeling career, practices what she preaches as she too has her comments disabled on Instagram.

Probably for the best.
