Here comes the bride-to-be Olivia Culpo in her bathing suit. In a new social media post the reality star shows off her gorgeous body in a wedding inspired white swimsuit, while enjoying festivities surrounding her upcoming nuptials to Christian McCaffrey. “It’s a bridal shower,” she joked in one of the photos, wearing her bathing suit while taking a shower. How does the WAG maintain her amazing body? Celebwell rounded up some of her top health habits.
Olivia maintains an incredibly healthy diet. “I stick to the 80-20 rule,” she told Hamptons magazine. “Eighty percent of the time I’m really good, and then 20% of the time I allow myself to eat, not whatever, but indulge a little more, I guess you could say.” She fuels her body with lots of healthy fiber and protein throughout the day. She starts her morning off with coffee with oat milk and a bowl of fruit, avocado toast and egg whites, followed by a salad for lunch. “I love chicken and any veggies with a miso vinaigrette,” she told Women’s Health.
Olivia created the 20-minute Cardio Challenge on social media, a workout short enough to slip into your day. “That is basically 20 minutes of cardio at whatever speed you want. I’ve been doing it with my followers encouraging them to join the challenge and just do whatever feels right for 20 minutes,” she explains. She adds that the great thing is that “it doesn’t feel too overwhelming,” and it is an easy way to get moving. “Before you know it, it’s over.”
Olivia travels with P.volve equipment – a low-impact method with portable equipment that can be done anytime, anyplace. “The P.volve workout is great for me because I travel a lot,” she told Shape. “There are 3-pound ankle weights, 2-pound free weights, and tons of elastic bands that you can use in different ways.”
Olivia keeps healthy snacks on hand. “I’m obsessed with nuts,” she revealed to Women’s Health. She also mixes sweet with salty. “I need energy on set, so I like the raisins and the chocolate,” she explained.
“I’ve noticed it’s very important to be consistent with workouts,” Olivia told Shape. “I think it’s really easy for people to go through phases where they’re really intense with their workouts and then they kind of fall out of it.” She continued, “I try to stay active as much as I can by doing low-impact, high-intensity workouts so that I’m consistent and I don’t wake up one day and realize it’s been two weeks and I haven’t worked out.” Olivia exercises almost every day. “I try to workout as many times a week as I can,” she told HollywoodLife. “Ideally, I workout five times a week but when I’m traveling for work or on set for 12+ hour days, it’s more difficult to carve out time.”
Olivia told HollywoodLife that one workout is responsible for her flat abs. “Cardio is a huge part of getting abs! When I am running regularly, I can actually achieve abs comparable to when I am doing regular ab exercises. Cardio helps keep your BMI low and also stimulates your metabolism so it stays at a higher rate throughout the entire day. So your body is in fat burning mode for much longer, it’s like the gift that keeps on giving,” she said.
Culpo eats her veggies – but only if they are steamed. “I think it’s easier to digest [vegetables] when they’re steamed, as opposed to raw,” she told Shape. “Steaming doesn’t have to be boring,” Diane L. McKay, PhD an assistant professor at Tufts’ Friedman School, tells Tufts. “You can add flavors in the steaming liquid and by lining the steamer with fragrant additions. Or sprinkle with your favorite fresh or dried herbs for extra flavor and phytochemicals.”
