Lenda Murray is dressed to sweat – with her bodybuilding pals. In a new social media post shared by a friend, the champion bodybuilder flaunts her fit figure in exercise clothes. “SHOUTOUT to the ladies,” Wendy Forino captioned the group snap. In a YouTube video educating her followers on nutrition, Lenda offered some tips. Her first was that you should avoid adding extra calories. “There’s a way to eat and still get a lot of enjoyment out of your food, but it’s not necessary to add extra calories or unnecessary calories,” she says. She uses the example of a baked potato, recommending that you should skip the “cheese and butter and sour cream,” or at least only having one of them. Salad dressing is another example she uses.
Another “big, big mistake that people make all the time,” according to Lenda is that people “drink their calories,” she says. “One serving of a cup and a cup of orange juice, 113 calories and 27 grams of carbohydrates. So if you’re eating this meal and you’re supposed to only have 350 calories, and then you go and get a little bitty glass of juice, guess what? You just added 113 calories to your meal,” she points out. Her drink of choice is Crystal Light.
Lenda loves having eggs in the morning, but she has a lower calorie hack. She eats four eggs. “I don’t eat the whole egg whites only. Now, if you’ve gotta have some of the yolk and you wanna have, what you can do is take two eggs, one whole egg, and then the other one eliminate the yolk and scramble it up and you won’t miss that extra yolk,” she says.
“You never really have to weigh your food. You can always eyeball it and tell if you’re doing the right thing,” Lenda says. However, you do have to pay attention to the nutritional value of each food, and stick to eating lots of greens instead of starchy, high calorie and carb foods. “
