Bethenny Frankel Calls Out Luxury Brand For Fashion Shaming Her

Accusing them of fashion shaming in a fiery social media post, Frankel cautioned the brand for its elitist attitude with some help from a few supporters. 

The star took to her Instagram story to share a screenshot of Jessica Simpson’s post, which highlighted the fashion brand’s treatment of Frankel.

The screenshot captured a still from Frankel’s reel titled “CHANEL FIELD TRIP.” In support of her friend, Simpson wrote across the image:

“So they wouldn’t let her in the other day without an appointment…. Sue was dressed “regular” like normal humans do everyday. Then went back decked out in CHANEL and they let her in…. SAME BANK ACCOUNT.” 

In the video, which Frankel shared with her 3.4 million followers, the TV personality returned to the same Chanel boutique dressed head-to-toe in the brand. “If they let me in because of how I look, Christmas is canceled,” she remarked.

The latest clip in the saga showed Frankel exiting her car, walking to the boutique, and briefly chatting with security before being allowed in almost immediately.

She then exited the store shortly after entering. “It’s important that I mention that the three gentlemen outside (not present yesterday) were lovely,” she captioned the video before tagging the fashion brand.

Fans quickly took to the comments to voice their opinions on the incident, expressing outrage over Chanel’s behavior.

One supporter questioned, “What happened to the “appointment needed”?” While another sarcastically added, “No appt needed when you dress the part I guess.”

A follower insisted on accountability, “I saw both videos and Chanel can’t deny this. They need to address the situation.” Some expressed their excitement about Frankel’s actions, like this netizen who humorously exclaimed, “Release the freakin hounds!”

A fifth praised Frankel for making a stand, “Good for you. Their loss. I like that you proved a point!!!!” At the same time someone else called for improvement from the brand, stating emphatically, “Chanel do better!!!!”

Another person expressed disappointment at Chanel’s treatment of Frankel, describing their actions as “pathetic.”

Frankel’s recent Chanel dilemma is not her first fashion face-off. The Blast reported that the mother-of-one previously wrestled with the dilemma of tossing a Balenciaga purse and dress amidst the brand’s significant backlash in 2022.

“Houston, we have a problem,” Frankel remarked. “I didn’t think I had any Balenciaga because I talked about it, and it didn’t really apply to me.”

She recalled buying the black dress from the brand from a service like Rent The Runway for her iconic Forbes cover moment. “That’s pretty major in my life, I mean, don’t know if I can ever top that,” she said.

Looking at the dress with sentiment, Frankel explained, “This dress has been in my closet in archive, it has different meaning.”

Frankel’s followers quickly chimed in with their opinions, offering a mix of advice and strong reactions.

Before Frankel’s recent fashion saga, reports surfaced that she and Paul Bernon called it quits after six years of on-and-off dating. 

The Blast reported the split, revealing that the couple decided to part ways due to irreconcilable differences. A source close to the former couple shared insights into their decision:

“They are so different – he’s an under-the-radar kind of guy. Frankel is known for hitting red carpets often and constantly posting about her personal life on social media.”

Additionally, an insider disclosed that Frankel opted to retain the massive diamond engagement ring, valued at approximately $1 million, following the breakup.
