Exercise isn’t a chore for Angela. “I’m really self motivated and really into health/fitness. What keeps me motivated is that the results are worth it, and there’s no better feeling than sweating it out at the gym after a long day or to start my day!” she told Atlanta News.
Angela is open about her body. “Didn’t want to workout today … still did it,” she captioned an Instagram pic. “Side bar : Just because you work out doesn’t mean all cellulite disappears … natural body ! And proud.”
Angela tries to move her body daily. “I try to work out everyday. I usually box or do spin class. On my days off I’ll run stairs or run on the treadmill,” she told Atlanta News. “Rather than striving for speed or distance, focus on reaching your target heart rate training zone,” says the Mayo Clinic, referring to Cardiac Rehabilitation Director Erik Van Iterson, PhD, MS. “Make it a long-term goal to work towards sustaining this intensity for periods of at least 20 minutes,” he says.
“I’m a vegetarian, and yes your eating habits are very important,” Angela told Atlanta News. “It’s almost just as important as the work out. You won’t see results until you do both. [For those who are interested in becoming a vegetarian], I would say to get advice from other vegetarians and also talk to a doctor, but for me the transition was simple. I find a great balance with foods, lots of veggies, lentils, avocados, beans, it’s important to get your protein. I’ve been vegetarian for 3 1/2 years. And I love it. I feel great. My uncle Russell motivated me.”
Angela is all about supplements. She told Atlanta News that she takes “a basic multivitamin and also B12” daily. “In general, the best way to get vitamins is through food. Foods offer a complexity of nutrients that can’t be reproduced in a vitamin supplement. In addition, unlike vitamin supplements, no concerns have been raised about the safety of vitamins consumed in foods. There’s overwhelming evidence that a diet rich in plant-based foods — fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, seeds and whole grains — is a rock-solid foundation for optimal health,” says the Mayo Clinic.
Less than two weeks after giving birth to her first child in 2015, Angela was back at the gym. “Light workouts approved by the DOC ✔️ #13DaysPostBaby #Day1Gym,” she captioned this snap.
