Alessa Holloway is sharing a bathing suit beach selfie! The professional surfer, who is married to MMA fighter Max Holloway, shows off her incredible figure in a black swimsuit in one of her latest Instagram Stories. Alessa is a big fan of strength and weight training, revealing her workout routine to Billabong. She does one to four rounds of exercises with one minute rest after each round and no rest between each set.
- 20 squats
- 20 horizontal lunges (10 each side)
- 20 plank taps
- 14 dumbbells overhead
- Legs straighten out front without touching ground
- 30 sec Russian twist with dumbbell
- 30 sec mountain climbers
- 30 sec side plank each side
Obviously, surfing is a big part of Alessa’s fitness plan. She revealed to Self that she trains in the surf for up to four hours a day. “I’ve always had to go a little harder to keep up with girls who are taller and have more muscle,” she said. It is also a great ab workout. “My core is crucial to stabilize me and balance all my turns. When I surf, I’m tightening my abs the entire time—sucking everything in and flexing.”
In addition to HIIT workouts and surfing, Alessa also does pilates and CrossFit. “I do moves that force me to use all my energy so I can build my endurance for competing,” she said.
Alessa stays active even when she isn’t surfing. A few of her favorite activities include skateboarding and diving. “I’ll follow you deep sea baby,” she captioned this video from one of her diving trips with friends.
Alessa is a big fan of drinking her nutrients. She revealed the recipe to her Banana and Spinach Smoothie, filled with protein, iron, and good fats, to Billabong.
