Abbey Lee is a model and actress. She is best known for her roles in Mad Max: Fury Road and Horizon. Lee recently attended the Cannes Film Festival. She shared some highlights from the trip on Instagram. On the red carpet, Lee wore a stunning lavender gown. In another photo, Lee wore workout gear. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Abbey Lee stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
For her role in Horizon, Lee had to learn horseback riding. She talked about this in her Vogue interview. “I absolutely fell in love with horseriding. Obviously me, I was like, ‘I wanna be able to do it all.’ So by the third day, she had me galloping… She said, ‘There’s not much I can tell you other than to hold on.’ It’s like this really powerful machine underneath you, and it’s not like a car where you’ve got control. Because it’s inherently wild, it just adds this extra layer of like, ‘Holy shit!’ I loved it. I really loved it.”
Lee shared her skincare secrets with ELLE. She makes sure to take care of her face. “I always change things up with my skin routine but at the moment I use an Aesop Facial Scrub a few times a week, Witch Hazel as a toner, and a gorgeous moisturizer from Lush. On the days that I don’t exfoliate, I use an Aesop face cleanser—trying to keep it all as natural as I can. Most of the time, I don’t wash my face more than once a day.“
To keep her skin hydrated, Lee tells ELLE that she loves using coconut oil. “I use coconut oil in the shower. I have dry skin so I lather it on while I’m in the shower and the hot water and towel dry gets rid of the excess but leaves enough to let sink in. I can’t get enough of the summer smell!” The Cleveland Clinic states that coconut oil has a lot of benefits for your skin. “About 65% of coconut oil’s composition is medium-chain fatty acids, and they’re partially the reason why coconut oil is beneficial to your skin. Based on what dermatologists and research studies have found, certain medium-chain fatty acids like lauric acid and linoleic acid are the heavy hitters in coconut oil.”
Lee makes sure to keep her skin healthy when she travels. She shared her tips in her ELLE interview. “I’m a sucker for a facial and try to have one every now and then with extractions. I don’t even have a usual place, I just look for somewhere that looks decent in whatever city I’m in. My in-flight routine is pretty simple, I drink a ton of water and moisturize on my face before I board. After a big shoot with a lot of makeup I just wash it off before I go to bed. Very simple!”
Lee talked about her career in an interview with Vogue. She says that she makes sure to work hard and be prepared when she’s on set. “No matter what the job is, I can turn up on any day and shoot page 12, or page 75, and I’ll know exactly what I’m supposed to be doing, because I prep as far in advance as I can,” Lee says. “There are actors who don’t learn their lines until the night before. I can’t do that. That gives me real anxiety, so I’m always on it. I can shoot whatever they want me to do, whenever they want me to do it.”
